Common questions
What does a food safety consultant do?
A food safety consultant helps a food business meet legal requirements and run safe operations. That covers licensing, building food safety systems such as HACCP, reviewing labels, running audits, training staff and preparing documentation. The aim is to keep a business compliant and to catch problems before a regulator or customer does.
Do you only work with businesses in Bangalore?
We are based in Bangalore and work on site across the city and Karnataka. We also work with businesses elsewhere in India. Document review, label review, system design and training can all be done remotely, and we travel for audits and on-site work.
How much does food safety consultancy cost?
It depends on the size of the business and the scope of work. A label review is a small, fixed piece of work. A full HACCP system for a manufacturing unit is larger. We give a written quote after the first call, and we do not charge for that call.
Why pay a consultant when ChatGPT or Claude can tell us the rules?
Use them. They are good for orientation and for understanding an unfamiliar term. What they cannot do is carry the consequence. A model answers the question you ask, and the costly mistakes in this work come from the question you did not know to ask, usually about which category your product legally falls into. It cannot see your artwork, your floor or your records, and it will not know whether last month's FSSAI amendment applies to you. When a print run is scrapped or a batch is held, your business answers for it. We put our name to the advice and we are there when it is questioned.
What is the difference between FSSAI, HACCP and ISO 22000?
FSSAI registration or licensing is a legal requirement to operate a food business in India. HACCP is a method for identifying and controlling food safety hazards. ISO 22000 is a certifiable management standard that includes HACCP. Most businesses need FSSAI first. HACCP and ISO 22000 usually follow when a customer, buyer or export market asks for them.
Can you review our label before we print it?
Yes, and this is one of the most common things we are asked for. We check the nutrition panel, ingredient declarations, allergen information, claims and all mandatory statements against current FSSAI requirements. It is far cheaper to fix a label before printing than to recall or reprint one afterwards.
We use a third-party manufacturer. Who is responsible for compliance?
Both parties carry obligations, and the brand owner carries more than most people expect. We help brands set up the checks, agreements and records needed when manufacturing is outsourced.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a week for review and documentation work. On-site audits and training are scheduled around your operations.

The Real Cost of a Food Label Claim Mistake (Before You Print)
Most label claim mistakes I catch aren't lies — they're words like "100%," "healthy," or "pure" that never got checked against what FSSAI actually allows. Here's what those words really require, and what a wrong one costs once it's already on the pack.
