Who we are

Inspeckt Food Solutions is a food safety and regulatory compliance consultancy operating from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. For anything in this policy, contact Diptasree Chaudhuri at diptasree@inspecktfoods.in.

For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below, and you are the Data Principal.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Consultation enquiries. Your name, business name, email address, phone number and the reason for the enquiry.
• Newsletter signup. Your name and email address.
• Free label checklist. Your name and email address, so we can send you the file.
• Blog comments. The name you choose to display, your comment, and optionally an email address if you ask us to follow up.

We do not ask for payment card details, government identity numbers or any other sensitive identifiers through this website.

Information collected automatically

• Page views. Which pages are visited and when, recorded by us in aggregate to understand what people read.
• Analytics. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies and records device, browser, approximate location and on-site behaviour. Our hosting provider also records basic performance and traffic measurements.
• Local storage. When you dismiss the newsletter popup, your browser stores a note of that so we do not show it again for thirty days. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Why we use it, and marketing messages

We use the information above to:

• Reply to your enquiry, by email or by telephone
• Send you the label checklist or any other material you requested
• Send our newsletter and regulatory updates
• Send promotional messages about our services, offers and related content, by email and to the phone number you provide, including by SMS, WhatsApp or a phone call
• Understand how the site is used and improve it
• Keep records of enquiries and the work that follows

By submitting your email address or phone number through this website, you consent to receiving these messages. You can withdraw that consent at any time. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can email diptasree@inspecktfoods.in at any time to be removed from email lists, phone lists, or both. Withdrawing consent does not affect our ability to reply to an enquiry you have already made.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to measure visits. These are not required for the site to work, and you can block or delete them through your browser settings without losing access to anything. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run the site, and your data passes through them only so they can provide that service:

• Vercel, which hosts the website
• Supabase, which stores enquiries, subscribers and comments
• Resend, which delivers our emails
• Google Analytics, which measures site usage

Some of these providers process and store data outside India. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them for the working relationship and our own records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we retain a minimal record that you opted out, so that we do not contact you again by mistake. Comments remain until you ask us to remove them.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to stored data is restricted, and unsubscribe links are signed so that only the holder of an email address can remove it. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do not ask for more information than we need.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:

• Tell you what personal data of yours we hold and what we have done with it
• Correct or complete anything inaccurate
• Erase your personal data where we no longer need it
• Withdraw consent you previously gave, including for marketing messages
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you are unable to

Write to diptasree@inspecktfoods.in and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may raise the matter with the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This site is intended for people running or working in food businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your data for marketing will be notified to subscribers by email.
