FSSAI changes, explained in plain language

Most regulatory updates are written for lawyers. This one is written for the person who has to act on them.

Notifications, amendments, labelling changes and practical guidance for food businesses in India. Sent when there is something worth sending, not to fill a schedule.

No spam, and you can unsubscribe whenever you like.

What you will get

Notifications that matter

FSSAI issues notifications, amendments and advisories constantly. We read them and write up the ones that actually change what a food business has to do.

Labelling changes

What is changing on pack, when it takes effect, and whether artwork already in circulation is affected.

Practical guidance

Short pieces on audits, documentation, claims and the mistakes we see most often, drawn from actual work rather than theory.

Who it is for

Packaged food brands, restaurants, cloud kitchens, manufacturers and anyone whose work is affected when a rule changes. Written by Diptasree Chaudhuri, who does this work day to day rather than reporting on it from a distance.

Common questions

How often will you email me?

When there is something worth sending. Regulation moves in bursts, so some months carry two or three notes and others none at all. We would rather send nothing than pad a schedule.

What will you do with my email address?

Send you the newsletter. We do not sell or share the list, and we do not pass it to anyone else.

Is this the same as the FSSAI updates page?

Related but not identical. The updates page is a running log you can check whenever you like. The newsletter is the version that comes to you, with the context on what a change actually means.

Can I unsubscribe?

Yes, from any email, at any time. No forms to fill in and nobody will call you about it.

Want something useful right now?

The pre-print label check covers 40 things to confirm before your food label goes to the printer. Free, and yours immediately.
